Dental Care with Implants - “Teeth as strong as your own”
In today’s world of dentistry, Incorporation of Dental Implants is like doing a normal filling. How much do we know of Dental Implants??
A Dental Implant is like a titanium root placed into the bone to support a artificial porcelain tooth. Titanium is a biocompatible material used since long to join broken bones of the body in a fracture.
The implant is placed under local anesthesia. And usually left in place for 3 to 4 months for the implant and the bone to unite. It can be used to replace a single missing tooth, several missing teeth, or when all teeth are missing when we can support the denture using implants as well.
Sometimes when there is inadequate bone the we may have to graft bone using the patients own bone or synthetic bone graft materials .
How Successful are Implants??
The current evidence based reports suggests that Implants have a 99.6 % success, provided regular active maintenance is carried out.
Costs??
Dental Implants are state of the art alternatives for replacing missing teeth, the components are expensive and the procedure is also technique sensitive. The cost varies from case to case. Generally a consult with the dentist will answer all your queries regarding costs and procedures.
